Unable to reproduce this issue on reported version 64.0.3282.119 and on latest stable 64.0.3282.167 using above mentioned steps in Ubuntu 14.04. 1. Navigated to osm.org and logged in. 2. Navigated to https://www.openstreetmap.org/edit#map=19/24.97608/121.25367 3. Now selected Custom Background and able to copy text without any issue. Attaching screencast for reference. @Reporter: Please check the video and let us know if we miss anything. Also please check the issue on fresh profile which do not have any apps/extensions. This would help in further triaging of the issue. Thanks!

Thank you. However I meant that I can't copy the whole message. Including the words "Valid token are" etc. Yes I can copy the words in the textbox. But I wanted to copy the whole message, including the "... says" at the top. I was able to with Firefox, but not chromium.

Could you provide HTML+CSS for alter box? It seems user-select CSS property prevents to select contents in alter box except for text box.

In https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/4806#issuecomment-366666250 they replied: "You can point them at http://preview.ideditor.com/master as an example.. user-select should not affect the selectability of text in a window.prompt, and I'm using Chrome and I don't see this issue, so it might just be Chrome on Linux that has the issue."

And I can confirm with http://preview.ideditor.com/master that Chrome on Linux has the issue.

Able to reproduce this issue on Mac 10.13.3, Win-10 and Ubuntu 14.04 using chrome latest stable #64.0.3282.186 and latest canary #66.0.3353.0. This is a non-regression issue as it is observed from M60 old builds. Hence, marking it as untriaged to get more inputs from dev team. Thanks...!!
