Chrome Icon not on Recent list of Daydream home page after use. |
||||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 66.0.3347.0 canary OS: Android 8.1.0 Pixel 2 What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Set the "VR Intents" and "Chrome Icon on Daydream Home" flags via chrome://flags (2) Exit Chrome (3) Install "NBC Sports VR" app. This may not be necessary but didn't notice a problem before this was installed. It puts an icon on the Home page. (4) Launch Daydream (5) Launch Chrome from Daydream via the Library icon, do this multiple times. What is the expected result? (4) Chrome icon should appear on the Daydream Home page. (5) The Chrome icon should be put back on the Home page as the last viewed, first item in the list. What happens instead? The Chrome icon was there initial but after install the NBC Sports VR app it was removed. (5) The Chrome icon never appears on the Home page even after several launches.

This is only an issue with Michael's debug version of homescreen launch icons, right? Or am I misunderstanding this and this is with the intended scenairo of when we're included in dd home (if the latter, it sounds like a platform bug).

It's the latter, and probably a platform bug, but I haven't investigated. In more recent builds I don't even see recent list, so maybe that's going away.

Adding this to the hotlist to make sure we at least understand what's going on here when we launch.

I can't repro the issue anymore. It looks like the app list on the Dashboard uses the 4 most recently launched apps, Chrome included. Everything seems to be working correctly. Please close if you can't repro anymore.

I noticed it was fixed a couple days ago. Closing as WontFix (but really it is Fixed). We have tests for this in the test plan now also. |
