Domain info and affected user info: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1u6EhHkyosbzcmOh5FSl0CGMrw5TMDiO68wWi6BqK7Wc Case#: 14601182 Description:"Certificate authority installed" pop-up appears each 5-20 minutes inside ARC. Steps to reproduce: 1. Sign-in to the device 2. Enable Play Store 3. Wait for a certificate notification to be displayed at the bottom right hand corner 4. Close the notification 5. Wait between 5 up to 20 minutes and the notification will show up again 6. Close the notification 7. The notification will show up again. - Timeframe when issue started: The issue started when they enabled ARC for their devices, while they are aware that the product is still in beta, they have seen that for other domains the notification can be closed and won't show again however the are getting in recurrently, even after using the same profile (not deleting it nor using Erase all local user data). - Does it affect all devices? Yes (All of the ones running ARC) - Isolated to: Currently happening in Stable and Beta and both the versions shared above and their recurrent updates. Current Behavior / Reproduction: Notification "Certificate authority installed" will show up again Close the notification The notification will show up again. Expected Behavior: Notification "Certificate authority installed" shows only once. - Troubleshooting steps taken: -Attempted to disable the notification from Chrome OS without success. -Attempted to disable the notification from Android settings without success. -Tested Other OS versions without success. -Tested locally by moving from Device management to Mobile management and didn't work -Tested pushing the Device policy app without success, issue is not reproducible in any scenario -Confirmed with a co-worker that his domain will display the notification even when the settings are the same, no certificate pushed in any of the Admin consoles, however his notification can be skipped and it won't happen again. - Is this reproducible in Beta/Dev? Yes - Existing Workaround: None, normally you can skip or close the notification and it won't show up again unless you recreate the profile or sign-in to a new device. For our customer this keeps happening. This is a duplicate of b/67891423, recently fixed by Philipp. +Philipp to confirm.

b/67891423 (whose fix is still under review and will appear in version 66 of Chrome OS) is about the notification popping up after every reboot (and crash). The description sounds like the notification shows up again after a while even if the device does not nothing? That would be a new bug. However, if the certificate is pushed via the admin console, then the fix will clear the notification permanently, not even showing it once.

Note also that the screen shots show Chrome OS 53, not 63. That version is over a year old. Are you sure the customer is testing on the newest version? |
