Dutch translation for "(not) secure" is misleading.

Reported by okaphone...@gmail.com, Feb 13 2018

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_3) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/65.0.3325.51 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open Chrome and visis a website.
2. Look at the text to the left of the URL.
3.

What is the expected behavior?
The Dutch translation should be a correct (non misleading) translation of "secure".

What went wrong?
The current translation ("veilig") is actually the translation of "safe". Which means something very different as "secure". I don't expect Chrome to be able to declare a website safe to visit. That would take a lot more than just checking for encryption on the network traffic with a valid certificate.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 65.0.3325.51 Channel: beta
OS Version: OS X 10.13.3
Flash Version:

Maybe "beveiligd" would be a better translation. I know it sounds very similar but it really means something entirely different as "veilig".

go/locobug (internal link) is generally the best and fastest route. I filed b/73291351, will update this bug.

Hi,

Thank you for reporting this bug.
I have ping the assigned language POC, asking some updates if the issue has been fixed.

I'll update you once confirmed.

Regards!

Thanks. It may seem like a small matter. But it would help a lot (for those of us having to explain these matters to "normal" people) to get the translation right.
Hi,

I am still not getting any update from the POC of this bug. Been doing some follow up on the bug as well.

I'll update you once confirmed.

Regards!

Actually I had not expected to get anywhere with this bug... possibly because the translation I proposed is a bit longer than the current one.

That is however just our language. Translating from English to Dutch often requires more space in a user interface. I'd say that should be less important than getting the translation right. But I'm not the one who decides. ;-)

So I do appreciate your help. Thanks.
No worries.

Hi All,

This bug has been fixed.
Feel free to reopen if needed.

Regards!
That is good news. :-)

Can I ask how it has been fixed? Just curious.
Says "Niet beveiligd" now. Thanks!
