Fast URL paste from clipboard sometimes results in loading current page again

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/64.0.3282.140 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Load an URL ending with a numeric ID parameter. 2. Switch to another application, copy new ID parameter. 3. Switch back to Chrome, double-click ID parameter in URL and replace it using CTRL^V and hit Enter key immediately. What is the expected behavior? Page with a new URL should be loaded. What went wrong? Sometimes, URL is replaced back to the current one and it's loaded again. Did this work before? Yes Chrome version: 64.0.3282.140 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: Not sure if this is related, but I noticed that sometimes a single click into address bar and typing something won't affect the URL, even if the URL seems to be selected, so should be replaced on a key press. URL bar feels like it's lagged sometimes (not a hardware issue and never happened few weeks ago).

Unable to reproduce this issue on reported version 64.0.3282.140 using Windows 10 with steps mentioned in comment#0. Attaching screencast for reference. 1. Navigated to https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=811757 2. In notepad we have https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=798705 3. Now selected 798705 in notepad and copied. 4. Now double clicked inside Omnibox , pasted and immediately pressed enter. @Reporter: Please check the video and let us know if we miss anything? Could you please tell how many times of 10 does this issue repros from your end? Also please check the issue on fresh profile which do not have any apps/extensions? This would help in further triaging of the issue. Thanks!

Also, another question for you sindhu: if you double-click and paste and then wait (don't hit enter), what do you see? Does the URL always end up with the pasted text? Does the dropdown appear? If so, are the suggestions simply the URL and a search for the URL, or are there other suggestions that don't involve the URL at all?

I was trying to reproduce and record, but this didn't happened again after a fresh boot (machine had a few weeks uptime before, that was the only thing different from yesterday). Also, on a second PC with similar specs, nothing weird occured. I'm sorry for this issue, probably can be closed if noone else faced this.
