Chrome uses Keychain (Keyring, KWallet, etc) to store OSCrypt's encryption key. For users who keep their Keychain locked, accessing the key will cause an unlock prompt to prompt. This prompt is disruptive to the user experience and comes with no context. It is perceived as a nuisance and some users make uninformed decisions to solve the problem.
We should prepare an article explaining
1. The benefit of using Keychain
2. Ways to have Keychain/Keyring unlock automatically
3. Ways to disable encryption (i.e. --password-store=basic for Linux)
Once the article is ready, Chrome should direct users to the article when it perceives a problem (e.g. via an infobar).
