beforeunload dialog cropped on Win7? |
|||
Issue descriptionAs per https://blog.malwarebytes.com/cybercrime/2017/12/tech-support-scammers-make-browser-lockers-resilient/ and illustrated in https://blog.malwarebytes.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/stay_trick.png , if a popup lives in the corner of the screen, the beforeunload dialog is cropped. I can't repro this on Win10; the dialog isn't cropped on that platform. Is it cropped on Win7? Peter, can you help here?

Do we have a local testcase that claims to repro this? From the description there it sounds like it involves multiple windows + a popunder, and I'm not convinced I can manually simulate correctly. I also don't have a Win 7 machine to test on, but the test folks should. It looks like maybe on bug 810813 there are some Fiddler replays here. Does one of those correspond to this case? Does that repro for you on Win 10 either?

The fiddler replays are supposed to be of that, I'm told. I don't have Fiddler and tried to do a repro with a hand-crafted beforeunload dialog, but my dialog wasn't cropped.

OK. Maybe someone in test can see if we can repro the clipping on Win 7 and/or Win 10, and if so, convert this to a reduced testcase?
