What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Receive a new e-mail in Gmail (or any new activity in one of my tabs)
What is the expected result?
- I receive a blue dot, but there is some option to disable these blue dots (which are effectively notifications)
What happens instead?
- I receive a blue dot, but there is NO way to disable this notification.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
- I understand that this is a feature ported from Android, but w/in Android, the user can opt out of notifications. There is currently no option w/in settings to change this. This is a MAJOR distraction. I intentionally turn of message counts and other notifications so I'm not tempted to work on an interrupt-driven model. Without this control, I'm now always wondering what this new content is, causing major interruptions to my workflow. This is apparently an issue that the public has problems with too: https://plus.google.com/+FrancoisBeaufort/posts/6HjyynfbSGK
