The md5sum should not change unless the tag has changed

Comment claims this is a "feature" but that doesn't seem right.

To be fair it says "feature" in quotes :) IIRC, tarballs from gitiles include current time, and thus they are different each time.

Please file this bug upstream: https://github.com/google/gitiles/issues
