ectool kbpress fails on eve

I use this to automatically login after pushing a new Chrome/Android image; it works on every other Chromebook except for eve:

localhost ~ # ectool kbpress 7 7 0
Releasing row 7 col 7.
EC result 4 (ACCESS_DENIED)

localhost ~ # ectool version
RO version:    eve_v1.1.6572-0e3f4120f
RW version:    eve_v1.1.6579-0470f63b6
Firmware copy: RW
Build info:    eve_v1.1.6579-0470f63b6 2017-10-03 22:37:08 @build21-m2.golo.chromium.org

Kirtika says it works for her, so maybe there is something wrong with my setup.

Your system may be write protected / running closer to MP firmware.

It is an MP unit.

Is that bad?  I think a bunch of my other Chromebooks are MP but they do not have this issue.

Probably not.  Most of the time the WP screw is removed on the development units.

So is this the right way to fix it on Eve?  `flashrom -p host --wp-disable`

I think you want "-p ec" to disable WP on the EC side so it allows the command.
