There are currently two setups for samus:

1. chromeos15-audiobox5-host2:

The issue is that whenever these conditions meet, audio jack does not work

a. audio bus on audio board is connected to cros device and chameleon line-in
b. chameleon USB is connected to DUT.


2. chromeos2-row10-rack7-host11

I can not connect to its chameleon at chromeos2-row10-rack7-host11-chameleon.cros


Tony will need more time debugging this issue.
TI ts3a227e is sensitive about ground. (ref that might be needed http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ts3a227e.pdf )


I suggest we should separate chameleon USB and 3.5mm testing for samus.

Kalin, could you please do the proper arrangement ?

We can have one set of samus with USB connection for USB related tests.
Another set of samus without USB connection to chameleon for audio jack related tests.

It looks like the test passes for the non-plugger test bed chromeos2-row10-rack7-host11, and always fails when executed in audio box chromeos15-audiobox5-host2.

I'll have my team check what's up with the audio box test bed.

Meanwhile I can disable the test on this host and have only chromeos2-row10-rack7-host11 to run it.

Hi Kalin,
I thought we can unplug chameleon USB from chromeos15-audiobox5-host2 so it does not test USB.
But we will need another set of samus running USB tests.

If we keep test_audiojack in chromeos15-audiobox5-host2 we can still test the plug/unplug jack detection.

It's up to you.

Since we don't change kernel on samus much, skipping real plug/unplug test on samus should also be ok.

I see, that might be the better way to do it, since there are more audio jack tests than USB. I'll have the USB unplugged at the audio box tomorrow.
