New Tab Page loads a frame from https://clients5.google.com/pagead/drt/dn/ for no apparent reason

Reported by 93m4qau...@gmail.com, Feb 6 2018

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/66.0.3340.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Install uBlock Origin (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm).
2. Open the New Tab Page.
3. Click on the uBlock Origin icon in the toolbar.
4. Click on the logger icon to open the logger (Open the Logger.PNG).
5. Click the reload icon near the top left corner of the logger page (Reload the NTP.PNG).
6. Wait 5 to 10 seconds for network requests to be logged.

What is the expected behavior?
The New Tab Page does not load a frame from https://clients5.google.com/pagead/drt/dn/.

What went wrong?
There are no ads on the New Tab Page, yet it still loads a frame from https://clients5.google.com/pagead/drt/dn/ for no apparent reason. (Screenshot attached.)

I think you just need to wait a little bit longer to reproduce it. I just retested again in Chrome canary, and it reproduces in canary as well (despite what I said in the original report), provided that I wait a little bit longer after pressing the reload button in the logger.

Cannot find the frame https://clients5.google.com/pagead/drt/dn/ in the logged network requests.
