obsolete tag not working on affected histograms

Obsolete tag on an affected-histogram didn't seem to propagate to the internal tools. I didn't look deeply into this, may be missing something.

Yeah, I think this is a known limitation.  It can be worked around by creating two parallel sets of suffixes, with the obsolete histograms grouped under one set, and the live ones under the other set.  It's definitely not a very clean workaround.

I see - thanks for clarifying.

Maybe in the short term let';s at least describe this limitation at the top. Median term we should actually fix this.
