Add an uninstall option in the app context menus for the shelf. |

Issue descriptionNoticing a trend in feedback from December 2017 that users are confused about how to uninstall apps. Here's the link to all user reports in Listnr about this over the last 90 days: https://listnr.corp.google.com/product/208/issue/0d:69647b14:1038985?dateRange=90 Here's how the user reports categorized as #issue>Apps>General>CantUninstall broke down over the last 28 days (138 reports): - About 60% of reports didn't include enough detail to categorize one way or another, - 20% seemed to be about issues uninstalling Android Apps, - 17% about removing Chrome Extensions, - About 1% focusing on uninstalling pre-loaded apps. In our Help Center, we tell users to right-click on apps from the Launcher to uninstall. However, while that works, it doesn't feel very discoverable to the average user. Could we make the uninstall action for apps more obvious? For example, could we allow users to uninstall apps when right-clicking on the App Icon in the shelf instead?

since this isn't specific to Android apps, would recommend shelf folks look at this. We can advise on how to implement Android portion, but should be straight forward given current functionality in launcher

+1 I can take this. Shiba and I have been talking about introducing an uninstall option in the shelf and making uninstall clearer for the user. Thanks for raising this trumbull@.

Can we just add "Uninstall" to the shelf context menu? I think it's quite confusing that we have "Unpin" there, but you need to go into the launcher to get the Uninstall option.

Yeah this is under the scope of touchable context menus. I'm planning on having this done by M67.

This should be accomplished by the App Service. |
