What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Go to http://chrome-vr-test.appspot.com/
(2) Place device in Daydream headset, to enter Chrome VR
(3) Select one of the following links under 8. Non-ASCII URLs
http://ang.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elisabeþ_I_Engla_Cwēn (Ænglisc/Old English)
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/エリザベス1世_(イングランド女王) (Japanese)
4. Observe flash before new page is loaded.

What is the expected result? The background should not be changed when browsing from one page to another. The asset (mountains and sky) should not flicker.

What happens instead? A black flash appears, or a flicker, after clicking the link. Right when the new page loads. It's easy to notice but happens very quickly. 

It doesn't happen on every link.
