Short black flash in background environment when navigating via page links |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 66.0.3336.0 OS: Android N, O Device: Galaxy S8+, Pixel 2 XL What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Go to http://chrome-vr-test.appspot.com/ (2) Place device in Daydream headset, to enter Chrome VR (3) Select one of the following links under 8. Observe flash before new page is loaded. What is the expected result? The background should not be changed when browsing from one page to another. The asset (mountains and sky) should not flicker. What happens instead? A black flash appears, or a flicker, after clicking the link. Right when the new page loads. It's easy to notice but happens very quickly. It doesn't happen on every link.

I can repro pretty reliably on Pixel 1, Android N, Chrome 66.0.3336.4. Interestingly, only the left eye background flashes. Also, a translation popup appears. Maybe it is related to the fallback UI.

Doesn't happen on M65 Dev (there no translation popup appears).

Hey David! Thanks for finding this when you did. We were negligent, and this issue flared during demo build prep. A different bug was then filed and tracked the fix.
