Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/64.0.3282.119 Safari/537.36 Platform: 10176.65.0 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. In Admin Console, disable the core GSuite service Hangouts 2. Login to Chromebook with Google account 3. Open CRD and click Share What is the expected behavior? A 12 digit access code should display What went wrong? Error message "An unexpected error has occurred. Please contact the developer" Did this work before? No Chrome version: 64.0.3282.134 Channel: beta OS Version: 64.0.3282.134 Flash Version: 28.0.0.137 I found this bug previously open from a few years ago when Hangouts was still called Google Talk - Issue 496020 https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=496020 If Google "WontFix" like it states in the previous bug, then please at least provide some kind of warning to Admins that are disabling Hangouts for their users so they know that they won't be able to use CRD to assist anymore. The most ideal fix would be to completely finish segregating Hangouts from CRD, so they operate independently of one another.

Unfortunately, we rely on the Hangouts infrastructure for connecting, but we'll work on improving the messaging in the next version. |
