Unable to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version 64.0.3282.119 and on the latest canary 66.0.3336.0 Using Mac 10.13.1 with the below mentioned steps. 1. Launched chrome 2. Opened DevTools 3. Tried zooming in the page and zooming out of the page We are able to zoom in/out with out any problem. Attaching the screen cast of the same. @Reporter: Could you please check the screen cast and let us know if we have missed any steps while reproducing the issue. Any further inputs from your end may help us to triage the issue in a better way. Thanks!

The difference in my case is that I have put the developer tool to the left side. Now I have put it to the right, but because the developer tool is already at its absolute tiniest size I am still not able to get it zoomed in. What happens now is that zooming in or out has no effect on both, developer tool and webside. But as soon as I close the developer tool, the webside gets zoomed. Apart from this bug as such, is there a temporary way for me e.g. via terminal to reset the developer tool to its original size ?

kpfkpf@ Thanks for the feedback. Tested this issue on Mac OS 10.12.6 and 10.13.1 and Windows 10 on the reported version, latest Stable and Canary and unable to reproduce the issue by following the steps mentioned above. On opening Devtools on the left side on any web page and zooming in/out, no issues are observed. Attached is the screen cast for reference.. On clicking the cursor on the Web page and hit on Ctrl+/- buttons, the pages are zoomed-in/out. On clicking the cursor on the Devtools panel and hitting on Ctrl+/- buttons, the pages are zoomed-in/out. On hitting on Ctrl+0 button, the pages are set to their normal font size. Request you to retry the issue on a new updated chrome profile without any flags/extensions and update the thread with the observations. Thanks..

Can't repro. Cmd + 0 should reset zoom. chrome://inspect can bring your focus to any opened devtools instance that you can try resetting.

Thanks for testing !
Here I add
1.) answer to test results
2.) how to get out of the miserable situation due to this bug
3.) better way to reproduce the bug
4.) localization of bug in Chrome code
1.) The behavior as shown in the screen cast is perfect but did not behave like that in my case:
- - Cmd +0 had no influence on the developer tool side, only on the web side
- - Zooming in/out always zoomed on the web side indepently of the current focus.
2.) Getting out of the trap I blindly (because font too tiny to be readable) managed by switching the developer tool from split screen to new window. There zooming normally as expected.
3.) I think the bug can only be detected like that:
a) Before opening the developer tool, zoom state was either zoom in, out or not
b) Open developer tool on the right side & zoom in or out once zooms the web side
c) important: now switch developer tool from right to left
d) now zoom in/or out results in (focus did not matter):
zoom in --> zooms only the web side
zoom out --> zooms only the developer tool
I myself having had troubles for weeks to get out of the trouble do not risk to test it again. Therefore above I mentioned some "or"s
4.) From the behavior in my case it seems to me that Chrome code at first (can mean at zoom state none, in or out) checks where the developer tool is displayed. Then zooms. At the next zooming command the code assumes that the developer tool is still at the same side, but should ALWAYS CHECK ANEW AGAIN on which side it really is.
As long as this bug is not resolved I myself will use the developer tool only in the new window mode.
Hope this description is helpful.
