That doesn't sound good. Could you try using a different network and check if you're still facing this? Keep us posted with your findings.

Hmm. Let's give these steps a try: In Windows, Start > Type cmd & open it > Type in netsh winsock reset > Enter > Restart the device. Does that help?

It looks like the version of Chrome you are using is almost a year out of date. If you update to a new version, do you still have the issues?

Also, do you have any firewall/anti-virus/proxy products on your network? Its possible that they are interfering with your connection to gmail. (Also, are you having issues with mail.google.com or gmail.com?)

Comment 5 by leemo...@gmail.com, Jan 31 2018

updated to latest version problem remains.

firewall/anti-virus does not affect Microsoft Edge from connecting to gmail

Can you attach a net-internals log and screenshot while experiencing the issue: https://dev.chromium.org/for-testers/providing-network-details

You'll want to visit gmail having its problem while its recording a net-internals log. A recommended method is to close out of chrome, open a fresh instance, start capturing the net-internals log, and then try reproducing the error (in this case by visiting gmail).
I can't access....
Chrome Gmail is 404 for me...

As in, you'll need to attempt to visit (and get a 404 error) while recording the net-internals log, so that the access attempt/connection info shows up in the log.
As you wish :-)
Here it is.

400. That’s an error.

leemor.h@, the NetLog you've uploaded does not contain any events for some reason. Please try this:

1) Open a new Chrome window.
2) Go to chrome://net-export
3) Click "Start Logging To Disk", choose a place to save the NetLog file.
4) Open a new tab.
5) Try to login to your gmail account in the new tab, and get an error
6) Go back to the first tab, click "Stop Logging".
7) Upload the NetLog file to this bug report.
Here.
Thank you!
Waiting to resolve this enigma...

After taking a look at the NetLog, the issue doesn't appear to be network-related: the client was able to connect to the server successfully and receive a 400 response.

Apologies leemor.h@, hopefully someone from the proper team will be able to take a look at this issue soon.
We have seen a few cases of firewalls and middleboxes having issues with our TLS 1.3 deployment and returning access denied/400/500 errors, but it does seem like this involves a non-intercepted connection to Google, so I agree that its not a network issue.
Thank you, so, what is it? and how come I can access Gmail, via MS Edge?
