Back button does nothing for Files app in the tablet mode

Chrome Version       : Canary

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Switch to the tablet mode
2. Open Chrome
3. Open Files app
4. Click on the back button at the bottom left corner

What is the expected result?

Either of:

Go back to Chrome

What happens instead of that?

Nothing happens

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Same with all sorts of Chrome extensions (e.g., Hangouts). Also doesn't close your Chrome tab if you get all the way back to the "new tab" page (seems inconsistent; it's not, for example, what Clank would do).
