It's not a question of not being answered or triaged. We would like to have SSML support in TTS, but we don't currently have anyone assigned to work on it and we have other things that are a higher priority.

#6 Well, could not get a response edgewise after several attempts to make contact and asking directly at https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=88072 #36 "What needs to be done to own speech synthesis work going forward?" Still available to help to the degree able.
