CrOS a11y: Select To Speak/ChromeVox reading settings page items out of order |
||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionChromeOS Version 65.0.3322.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit) Firmware Version Google_Samus.6300.276.0 # Open Settings > Manage accessibility features > Open Select to Speak Settings # Hold down search and then click/drag to cover the entire settings page Expected: text is read in appropriate place in the normal left to right tab order Actual: highlight moves from Highlighting heading to the toggle switch, then to the text "Highlight each word as it is is spoken". The words "dark background" and "light background" are read out of order and highlight is incorrect while they are read. # Turn on ChromeVox and use linear navigation, search + arrows, to move focus across these areas Same incorrect ordering is shown. Note: it's not recommended to run STS and ChromeVox at the same time (or to even leave STS enabled while putting on ChromeVox.) However, once I disable STS, the options menu goes away, so I needed to keep STS on for this test.

Agreed. I changed this component to be UI> Settings. Whoever on that team gets this bug, please help me route this to the STS settings page folks. Thanks!

We actually own the settings pages for Select-to-Speak and Chromevox, so it still probably belongs to the a11y team to change the ordering of the elements on those pages.
