Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_2) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/63.0.3239.132 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open Developer Tools settings, select Devices pane 2. Newly added devices (since previous Chrome update) are unselected What is the expected behavior? Would like to see any new devices automatically selected, or perhaps an option to determine whether the user would want new devices added automatically or not. What went wrong? New devices are listed, but are not selected and therefore not shown in the dropdown in the Device Toolbar. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 63.0.3239.132 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.13.2 Flash Version:

Thank you for the report. I tried to reproduce the bug, but newly created devices were shown by default in the dropdown: https://imgur.com/a/tG8otvI I was unable to reproduce on: 63.0.3239.0, 64.0.3240.0, 69.0.3445.0 Marking as WontFix. Please let me know if I missed something, and I'll take another look.

Sorry, this is referring to the default devices provided by Chrome: https://imgur.com/a/KFmhgEI Currently on 66.0.3359.181 For new devices added with Chrome updates, these don't seem to be selected automatically. Personally, I'd like to see these selected automatically, or perhaps given a setting that allows me to toggle that as an option.

Ah, I think I see what you mean from the screenshot. In M65, we released a change [1] that removed Nexus 5X/6P from the default list, and added Pixel devices with show-by-default. We cannot change the past, but we can consider only adding default devices, never removing. [1] https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src.git/+/9f8d4632b417d2f4fa8216f9be3a19a16554806c

I think show-by-default is what I'm looking for. The Nexus 5X/6P were just examples and not devices I was specifically looking for. When this was first opened, it was because I had just updated Chrome and noticed there were a couple devices that were unchecked. I'm now guessing that they were older devices that had been removed, but I had assumed they were new devices that required me checking them manually. If new devices are automatically show-by-default, this should be a non-issue.

Yes, I believe it is as you describe in #6. Nexus 5X/6P were introduced in 2015: https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+/a99c1b7d9238adc9783ff69bfad6443ae62ea8a9 We can make any new devices show-by-default, yes.
