Thanks for the report. From the trace it appears a fairly significant layout is occurring on every single frame. Could be a bug in Chrome, or just the way the site is constructed. Emil, can you take a look and help triage?

Could you please provide a URL and a set of steps required to recreate the problem? Thanks.

I'm not sure how a url would work. It have to be a live stream with a populating chat by the time you check it. That's not predictable.

The busier the chat the worse the problem seems.

A link to the website in question and a description of what chat you're referring to would help. Is it something provided by the Twitch website or an extension?

www.twitch.tv The chat is on the right side in the image I attached. No extension.

The issue doesn't seem to be severe anymore, maybe they fixed something on their side. I'll report back if it ends up occuring again.

A difference shown in these two screenshots.

Hi, the chat widget uses a very tight update loop causing a lot of extra layout and paint work which explains the difference. It looks like they have recently reduced the update frequency though which could explain the improvement you've experienced. Sadly there isn't too much we can do on our side but thank you for the detailed report and screenshots! If things gets worse again please let us know.

I'm sending in a report to them with this report attached, for a few weeks now I've been switching to my desktop for streams as a work around to this issue. Hopefully they can have a look at it. |
