Search results box covering input when activating menu in fullscreen on mac os x

Reported by daniel.b...@gmail.com, Jan 19 2018

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_2) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/63.0.3239.132 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open Google Chrome on a OS X machine
2. Switch to fullscreen mode
3. Click on the search bar and enter a search string
4. Move cursor to top in order to show the menu

What is the expected behavior?
The search results box should move to the bottom a bit in order to not hide the search input.

What went wrong?
The search results box is covering the half of the search input. The box moves to the right place once the user continues to type or the cursor leaves the menu though.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 63.0.3239.132 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.13.2
Flash Version:

Yep, I can reproduce this. Thanks!

Same happens in Safari. So maybe OS-specific and therefore WontFix?
Not sure if there is even a way to catch the event of menubar activation

The code detects it now — this is definitely fixable (albeit low priority)!

Just to brain dump a little: I think the right solution is for the full screen toolbar to live in its own window instead of the main window, ideally following the same code path as AppKit toolbars so that it's attached to the menu bar. Then, the omnibox results window could be a child of that window, and it would move automatically when the toolbar moves.

Same issue is to see with the PopUp/Bubble of the Extensions, Bookmarks Star, Profile Button and Security Chip.
