Search Engine used in address bar is disabled and manage search engines is not letting you select any other search engines not even google.com

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/63.0.3239.132 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to settings 2. Manage search engines 3. More actions and select one of the action and tried to delete the existing one but more actions is not clickable/disabled. What is the expected behavior? Existing selection should let you delete the selection and make a new selection What went wrong? More actions is disabled not able to remove existing selection. Did this work before? Yes may be in chrome 62 Chrome version: 63.0.3239.132 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: Its always navigating to some 3rd party search when searched from the address bar which is annoying.

Unable to reproduce the issue on Win-10 using chrome reported version #63.0.3239.132 and latest canary #65.0.3321.0. Attached a screen cast for reference. Following are the steps followed to reproduce the issue. ------------ 1. Navigated to settings 2. Manage search engines 3. Observed that more actions is clickable without any issues. reporter@ - Could you please check the issue on latest canary #65.0.3321.0 by creating a new profile without any apps and extensions and please let us know if the issue still persist or not. @chunduru.anandsai: You are not able to change the search engine because something (probably malware?) is controlling the setting. The fact that the setting is controlled is indicated by the icon showing up in your first screenshot. I suggest looking up instructions on how to remove chromesearch.win, since there seems to be a common issue for others.

I have tried reinstalling chrome with same version with not extensions and profiles issue still exists. I will need some time to install Chrome 65 version and test it. I don't think I have any malware. I had a doubt initially after few test I figured it out no malware. but for sure its being controlled by something

Even though if malware present I don't understand why chrome lets it software get affected by it. Atleast it should be able to take care not being affected by anyone or anything. |
