Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/63.0.3239.132 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Add any site to your bookmarks or visit any site 2. Start typing the first letters of the name of this site in the omnibox What is the expected behavior? Site name must be the first in the omnibox list. Like in Firefox: http://jpegshare.net/08/b0/08b00b72bc1cc7a5a01e19e3d6f88f33.png.html http://jpegshare.net/12/7a/127a7d2159e9f525ebe213b515e02270.png.html What went wrong? The link (URL) is displayed first in the omnibox, not the name of the site: http://jpegshare.net/a5/84/a5849ced9d75aa7fcdf1884be92d3593.png.html http://jpegshare.net/9e/56/9e56e771f975b9e5f87069aa7166589c.png.html Did this work before? No Chrome version: 63.0.3239.132 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: Long and obscure to most ordinary users links (URLs) should be the last ones in the dropdown list of the omnibox

Able to reproduce the issue on Mac 10.12.6, Win-10 and Ubuntu 14.04 using chrome reported version #63.0.3239.132 and latest canary #65.0.3316.0. This is a non-regression issue as it is observed from M50 old builds. Hence, marking it as untriaged to get more inputs from dev team. Thanks...!!

Thanks for the feedback! We have the same sense, that's why displaying the title first is under active experimentation (see bug 338066 and (the permission restricted) bug 794203). |
