Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Connect a thermal receipt printer 2. Open a html file with simplest content. (<body>a</body>) 3. Right click and choose print What is the expected behavior? The printer should print out the content and cut the paper at the end of the content. What went wrong? If the page content is more than 1 page, it will cut at the correct place where content ends. (This is correct.) If the page content is less than 1 page, it will cut at the length of an A4 paper. Did this work before? No Chrome version: 63.0.3239.132(Official Build)(64-bit) Channel: stable OS Version: 10 Flash Version: I think when chrome is sending data to system printer api, it has a default height. Or it could because of the preview causing the blank section.

The issue need to be tested using a thermal receipt printer which is unavailable presently with ET-team. Hence, adding label TE-Hardware-Dependency. Thanks...!!

Questions: 1) Which printer and driver are you using? 2) Is the page size set to A4 in print preview? 3) If you use the system print dialog (ctrl + shift + p) instead of print preview, does it cut correctly?

Answering your qns: 1) printer is 4610-2CR and driver is called "4610 nwd 2.5 native windows". This printer model is used in almost all supermarket(New World, Pak'n Save, Four Squares) in New Zealand. 2) The paper size is set to "Receipt 80 x 297mm". 3) Even I use the system print dialog, it doesn't cut correctly. It only cut correctly when using firefox and IE.

We have a Bixolon receipt printer that cuts correctly for <body>a</body>, when the page size is set to one that's 297 mm in height. On our printer, there is a hardware switch for enabling the cutter. In the printer driver, it can be set to: - no cutting - cutting at the end of the print job - cutting at the end of every page, and at the end of the print job We tested the cutter used the middle setting. Does your printer have hardware switches or software driver settings that affect the cutter? Are they set to the same setting in Chrome and in other browsers? This issue feels printer specific, so it may take some time to fix.

As a test, can you try printing the attached hello_world.pdf from Chrome and see if the cutter cuts correctly? |
