Typing is interrupted by popups to authorize third-party-installed extensions

Reported by 93m4qau...@gmail.com, Jan 6 2018

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/65.0.3313.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open Chrome.
2. Start typing into a text box on a website, e.g. chromium issue tracker.
3. Prompt a program to want to add an extension to Chrome.
4. Be sure to be typing into a text box when Chrome displays the popup.

What is the expected behavior?
The popup opens, asking you whether or not you want the extension, but it does not shift the focus of your keyboard so that typing into the text box stops working.

What went wrong?
In addition to the popup opening, asking you whether or not you want the extension, it also unexpectedly shifts the focus of your keyboard so it stops typing into the text box, even though the popup doesn't accept text input.

Did this work before? N/A

Thanks for filing the issue!

We have checked the issue by typing some text in search bar after navigating to https://www.chromium.org/issue-tracking using Windows 7 with the chrome version 65.0.3313.0. We are unable to see any pop-up which obstructs the typing.

@Reporter: Could you please share a sample extension to test the issue and any further inputs from your end helps us to triage the issue in a better way.
I am using Kaspersky Total Security 2018 on Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 with Google Chrome installed. When you first open Chrome, or when you create a new Chrome profile, Kaspersky tries to add the Kaspersky Protection extension to Chrome, which Chrome sees as a third-party addition. The problem: if you are typing into a text box when Chrome displays the popup to validate the third-party-added extension, it shifts the focus of your keyboard off of the text box and over the popup, so your typing is interrupted. This applies to any third-party-added extension.
