Issue descriptionChrome Version : Version 63.0.3239.84 URLs (if applicable) : NA OS version : Version 10.12.5(16F73) macOS Sierra Behavior in Safari (if applicable): NA Behavior in Firefox (if applicable): NA What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Open Chrome Browser. (2) Type '?' in address bar as the first character. (3) Browser will not accept it. What is the expected result? It should accept '?' in address bar as well. What happens instead? It shows as a space of a character and continues to search anything typed after that. Please refer to screenshot attached. PS : Its working fine in search text box of google search but not in address bar. For graphics-related bugs, please copy/paste the contents of the about:gpu page at the end of this report.

This is working as intended. Typing a question mark is intended to force the omnibox into searching mode, so it's less likely to return URLs from your history. If you want to actually search for something that starts with a question mark, type the question mark again. Sorry for the trouble. Thanks for replying. But why only in chrome we have to write '?' twice? As in other browsers we have to type only once. Shouldn't other browsers are intended to force the omnibox into searching mode? |
