The page contains the bell character (0x07) at the locations. It is true that Chrome renders this as a square (on Linux) and appears to be a dot on Windows and Firefox ignores it. But you ultimately have invalid characters in your HTML. Over to the fonts team but I expect this is working as intended. I suggest you correct the source.

Working as intended as indicated in comment 2. Future versions of Firefox will also render these control characters. |
