Open link from other app lead to an empty window

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open link from other applications
2.

What is the expected behavior?
The link should be opened in a new tab

What went wrong?
Sometimes an empty window is popped up.

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

I'm experencing the same problem. Restarting fixes it temporarily, but it seems to reoccur about every 10 days if I don't restart in the meantime.

Unable to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version 63.0.3239.108 and on the latest chrome version 65.0.3311.3 using Mac 10.13.1 with the below mentioned steps.
1. Launched chrome rerported version and Slack (URL: https://slack.com/downloads/osx)
2. Clicked link on Slack application
3. New tab opens in chrome with related link data

@Reporter: Could you please have a look at the screen cast and let us know if we have missed any steps in reproducing the issue. Please try to test this issue by creating new person with no extensions and apps in it and let us know if the issue still persists.

The steps are correct. The issue happened occasionally. It's not a "stable" issue

Unable to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version 63.0.3239.108, as per comment#5 from the reporter, as this issue is inconsistent, hence removing Needs-Bisect label.

Can anyone from the Blink>HTML>Link(or)Platform>Apps team have a look at this issue.

I've also seen this, links from iTerm2 now open empty window for me. macOS 10.13.3 / Chrome 63.0.3239.132.

BTW, I have multiple windows opened, maybe that plays some role.

Re-tried the issue again on Mac OS 10.13.3 on the latest Canary 68.0.3430.0 and Stable 66.0.3359.170 by following the steps mentioned in comment #3 and unable to reproduce the issue.
On launching Slack app and clicking on any link, can observe that the link is opened in a new tab on Chrome.

As this issue is not reproducible at TE end, adding 'TE-NeedsTriageHelp' label and requesting someone from Platform>Apps team to look into the issue and help in further triaging.
