No webpages are loading on chrome and other chromium based browsers

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 5.1; 1201 Build/LMY47I) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/63.0.3239.111 Mobile Safari/537.36 Example URL: www.google.com Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Start up on the Google homepage 2. The page doesn't load and is stuck at "downloading proxy script" 3. What is the expected behavior? The website never loads. However if I reset the chrome settings to default it works properly for a few hours but then stops working again. What went wrong? The website is always stuck at "downloading proxy script"but it doesn't happen on other browsers like Firefox or internet explorer. Only happens on chrome, edge and other chromium based browsers. Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 63.0.3239.111 Channel: stable OS Version: Flash Version: When I reset chrome settings to default,It works properly for a few hours but the problem still persists.

I think edge has other problems that prevent it from working. But this problem happens on chrome, opera, cent browser etc. Could you suggest some solutions to this problem? Your help is appreciated.

If you do not use a proxy, please review https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/900935/how-the-windows-update-client-determines-which-proxy-server-to-use-to for how to disable the automatic proxy detection logic for Windows machines, and to configure it for direct access.

short answer: Disable proxy auto-detect (per comment #5). Are you running McAfee ScriptScan?
