A11Y: Alerts cause page to be aria-hidden |
||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionSubmitting for user: A friend of mine discovered yesterday that some pages do not seem to load at all, and wasn't sure why. After a bit of debugging, we determined that certain alerts are setting aria hidden=true which causes Chrome to read nothing while they are active. (you can read most of the page in firefox, but I never saw the alerts themselves) We first saw it in dropbox while deleting or un-deleting files. If you choose to delete a file, an alert appears asking if you wish to undo the action. You can see it with OCR while it's there, but you cannot read anything in the virtual buffer. For a repro case that does not require a dropbox account, we found this: http://store.ancientfaith.com/three-bar-crosses/ After you add something to your cart, the virtual buffer only repeats the page title. Is this issue known? Is there anything to be done about it on the Chrome side? I don't think it is doing anything wrong necessarily, but the experience is quite nasty for users.

The ancientfaith site loads a new page when I Add to Cart, I can't reproduce that. On DropBox, it works fine on Mac. Any bugs might be virtual buffer refresh issues on Windows.

I cannot reproduce this bug anymore. This may have been fixed when issue 797695 was fixed. Closing this bug since we cannot reproduce it. Please open another with more information if you are still experiencing this issue. |
