Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: 1. Use the "add to homescreen" button 2. Open the site from the home screen icon. 3. The navigation bar and menu bar are visible at the top. What is the expected behavior? The site should open in fullscreen, without the navigation bar visible. What went wrong? The navigation bar and menu button are visible. Did this work before? Yes Not sure of the version - I know it was working on the stable release in October. Chrome version: 63.0.3239.111 Channel: stable OS Version: 7.1.1 Flash Version:

What site are you testing this on? The behavior of the homescreen shortcut is entirely dependent on the site you're adding to the homescreen. They can determine whether there should be no Chrome UI, minimal Chrome UI, or if nothing is specified, it will open like a bookmark into normal Chrome.

This should be working as intended. Ordinary sites are not permitted to open from the homescreen without the browser UI. Sites must explicitly opt into showing with no browser UI via the web app manifest 'display' member. Please re-open if you can provide an example of a site which has opted into opening without UI and does not do so. |
