Hangouts Extension does not recognize chrome://settings/content/microphone permission for Voice Calls

Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 10176.22.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/64.0.3282.41 Safari/537.36 Platform: 10176.22.0 (Official Build) beta-channel samus Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Launch Hangouts Extension 2. Start Conversation with a Phone Number 3. Authorize Microphone Access What is the expected behavior? Hangouts will dial the phone number. What went wrong? Authorization is requested after it has been granted, but gives a blank page. Phone call never starts. Revoked access on chrome://settings/content/microphone page and popup does populate properly, however the results are the same, Phone call never starts and says it still needs permission. Yes Works on Stable version 60 of ChromeOS Chrome version: 64.0.3282.41 Channel: n/a OS Version: 10176.22.0 Flash Version: 28.0.0.133 /opt/google/chrome/pepper/libpepflashplayer.so As mentioned, this seems to be a regression but is associated with the beta version of ChromeOS, and not the extension itself. I currently have a Chromebook pinned to version 60 and the voice dialing works fine using the same account.

This also affects the x64 version (Version 64.0.3282.71 (Official Build) beta (64-bit)) of the browser on Windows machines.

Same issue here. The what I call using normal hangouts (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-hangouts/nckgahadagoaajjgafhacjanaoiihapd?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog) has this blank dialog issue. But the other one (still not sure why there are 2...) still works as expected (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-hangouts/knipolnnllmklapflnccelgolnpehhpl?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog). I hope they fix this soon.

Sorry to pile on, but this is NOT fixed. Sooo many problems. The APP works, the EXTENSION does not. But, there is no sound for either? Really Google? I have to use Skype on Windows 10? Thanks for the waste of an hour troubleshooting hangouts AGAIN. What a miserable fail of a tool. :( If this fails to meet your code of conduct, then recognize your ISSUE tracking is bugged. I cannot make sense of how many duplicate entries there are for the same problem.

Confirmed in 71.0.3578.98 - NOT FIXED. The only way to get hangouts.google.com to work is to DISABLE the Hangouts Extension in Chrome. This seems to be a recurrence of issue ID 797080 |
