source display nothing when popup named about:blank

Issue description
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/64.0.3282.39 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. from download site with bad popup adv, tiny popup is open with name about:blank
=> right clic display source return nothing
=> inspect and open source: nothing
What is the expected behavior?
First: perhaps block all popup! (open only tab)
second: display source (same as IE)
What went wrong?
say no source
Did this work before? N/A
Chrome version: 64.0.3282.39 Channel: beta
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)

sorry for the response time, I lost the original url, it is still probably in the Chrome history, but the search does not allow to browse a particular day, in addition to having to scroll with a triple-spaced display.

Able to reproduce this issue with given URL in comment#5 using Ubuntu 14.04, Windows 10. Observing about://blank popup and no data in sources tab. In Mac 10.13.1 nothing happens(no popup) is seen on clicking Valider button.Firefox behaviour is same as Chrome, and in IE it works fine(code is seen in debugger section) This issue is seen from M50. Hence considering this issue as Non-Regression and marking as Untriaged.

Thanks for the report. In Chrome, the 'about:blank' site is empty and has no source contents. Opening the source in DevTools as empty is intended behavior. In general, Chrome has a popup blocking feature which you can adjust in your settings, see more here: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95472 If you do need to inspect a Popup with DevTools, you may want to check out the 'window.opener' API, which popup windows should have as a way to reference the page that created them. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Window/opener

But now web dev has found more method to bypass Chrome blocker.. and open popup with about:blank title.. with source to redirect and full screen resize after more minutes. block popup never work by default! it's enabled for all website and must add extension. thanks |
