Make sure you didn't enable chrome://flags/#top-chrome-md

Comment 6 by and...@gmail.com, Jan 12 2018

tried reset on

chrome://flags/#top-chrome-md

still the same (tiny text in search / address bar)

Looks like there's tiny text in the avatar button too, so removing UI>Browser>Omnibox.

Comment 9 by and...@gmail.com, Jan 12 2018

how do I

''removing UI>Browser>Omnibox.''

OP please run dump_xsettings and post the output here.

If the program is not installed, install it with
$ sudo apt-get install xsettings

Also try running a native GTK3 app like gtk3-widget-factory.
If it's not installed, install it with
$ sudo apt-get install gtk-3-examples
Post a screenshot of gtk3-widget-factory here too.
re c#9: I already removed the component, you don't need to do anything.

thomasanderson@, I'm leaving this in your hands, as you were the person who originally suggested installing "xsettings".
Sorry xsettings should be xsettingsd
So the command should be
$ sudo apt-get install xsettingsd

Comment 22 by and...@gmail.com, May 18 2018

hi

ive done

$ sudo apt-get install xsettingsd

now

text is still tiny
Now please run dump_xsettings and post the output here.

Comment 24 by and...@gmail.com, May 21 2018

hi

exactly how do i run dump_xsettings and post the output ?
In a terminal window, run "dump_xsettings > xsettings.txt". This will create a file xsettings.txt that you can upload.
