This is a hard disk, so I don't see the connection to power.

Sameer, do you know where we track storage device compatibility issues?

Danny, can we please get a repro for this?

(Bulk Edit) Adding the new conops Chrome OS hotlist to all open issues with the "#CBC-RS/TC-watchlist" tag, our former tracking tag.

I don't see any update in the thread, is this still a problem ?
+kalin to see if we have the external drive.
Unable to reproduce this issue on a PVT Cave running R68-10718.40.0 beta.

Attached ADATA SH14 external hdd to both USB-C connectors. External media shows up every time without issue.

We have an older model Lacie Porsche Design Mobile HDD but we cannot locate the proper power supply for the hdd. When plugging the HDD to DUT via just the USB cable and no external power source, observed the same issue reported above-- the light on the HDD blinks but the DUT doesn't recognize it.
