Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Navigate to any page where input fields are laid out using CSS grid
2. Focus/Hover mouse over fields

What is the expected behavior?
The fields should retain their sizing and not collapse. 

What went wrong?
The fields collapse to zero width. 

This only affects Chrome. 

Works in the following browsers (tested only on MacOSX): 
firefox, safari
