unusable due to graphics rendering

Steps to reproduce the problem:
Open the latest version of chrome canary

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
See screenshot. All images and text are unrecognizable. 
Occurs in both regular and incognito mode.

Did this work before? N/A 

Chrome version: 62.0.3202.94  Channel: canary
OS Version: OS X 10.11.6

This issue looks similar to  issue 794819 . Hence merging into that.
