Android latest webview not supporting histoy.back()

Reported by rahulbma...@gmail.com, Dec 18 2017

Issue description

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. create a html page with id backButton and jQuery function $("#backButton").on("click", function() {
history.back();
});

2. load the html page in Android WebView using webview.loadurl in Android System WebView version - 55.02883.91 it will work fine

3. Update the WebView to latest version and load the same html page you will find history.back(); not working

What is the expected behavior?
It should work as it worked in Android System WebView version - 55.02883.91

What went wrong?
Upgrading Android System WebView version to 63.0.3239.107 stopped supporting history.back();

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 63.0.3239.107  Channel: stable
OS Version: 6.0.1

rahulbmatte@, could you please share a sample app with source code with us so we could repo this issue as c#2 suggested? It doesn't very helpful for us to see what's going on in a video but we need to know the app's usage of Android WebView. Thanks!
Probably dupe of issue 794020 ?

Oh, I was thinking the fix of issue 794020 was in M63 already, so asked to update to 63.0.3239.111. But by reading the context, the fix is only in M64 and above.

rahulbmatte@, according to issue 794020 , you probably will get it fixed with 64.0.3282.31 and above. Please comment if that doesn't fix the issue. Consider this is a dup of issue 794020 for now.
