Gmail unreachable

Reported by kalle...@gmail.com, Dec 17 2017

Issue description

I cannot access my Gmail account. I am getting this message:

mail.google.com is currently unreachable.
Try:

Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall

ERR_SSL_VERSION_INTERFERENCE

After trying various things without success my research came across instructions to submit a bug for fixing. If someone can please address this so that I can access my Gmail, I would be very grateful. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
~Stephen~

Do you know if there are any firewalls/antivirus on your computer or network? We've seen some issues with these devices/software that might be causing the problems.

Can you also attach a net-internals log while experiencing the issue: https://dev.chromium.org/for-testers/providing-network-details

At this point we've turned off the feature for the holidays (it should turn off when you restart Chrome). If you have a chance, information about any firewalls/antivirus that might be affecting the connection would still be useful so we can try to test them/contact them before we re-enable it after the holidays.

You can always force the feature on to test whether it is still causing issues by going to chrome://flags#tls13-variant and setting it to "Enabled (Experiment 2)".
Status: WontFix (was: Unconfirmed)
Marking this closed as the current experiment has rolled down, if you have issues again or are able to reproduce the issues by setting chrome://flags#tls13-variant to "Enabled (Experiment 2)", please reopen an issue with details about your firewalls/antivirus that may be causing issues, along with a net-internals log (https://dev.chromium.org/for-testers/providing-network-details).

My computer runs Avast antivirus. I can't think of anything else. I have
attached my net internals log. Thank you.

Best,
~Stephen~
We've heard a number of bugs regarding Avast AV. Do you know what version of Avast you are running?

(Also, it looks like your net internals log didn't attach.)
