Bad flickering in timeline flame chart

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/65.0.3295.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Record a performance profile
2. Zoom in on the timeline
3. Scrub the cursor over the timeline or flame chart

What is the expected behavior?
The usual rendering.

What went wrong?
Bad flickering (see attached).

Did this work before? Yes 

Chrome version: 65.0.3295.0  Channel: canary
OS Version: OS X 10.12.6

This is a duplicate of 795390. I suspect it the duplication is because I had devtools open on the page after submitting and clicked the "Start profiling and reload page" button, which resubmitted the POST request without confirmation.
