Newly added HTML element nodes are collapsed in the inspector, and there's no way to prevent this

Reported by birger...@gmail.com, Dec 15 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/63.0.3239.84 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Create a web application that programmatically adds new HTML elements to the document
2. Inspect the document, notice how all nodes in the Elements tab are collapsed

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
All nodes should be expanded, or at least there should be an option to automatically expand all nodes

Did this work before? N/A

@lushnikov - is this intended behavior?
Status: WontFix (was: Assigned)
This is an intended behavior; expanding nodes will increase devtools footprint over website performance.

At any time, you can expand all the subtree with the alt-click.
