Address Bar Removes ':' from URL Scheme |
||||||
Issue descriptionOn Canary (65.0.3294.0), every time attempt to navigate to https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html?hl=es-419 the omnibox will remove the ':' and attempt to go to https//www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html?hl=es-419 Unsurprisingly, this fails the navigation. Strangely enough, this seems to be only an issue on my profile. Loading up another profile makes this work just fine. This seems to work fine on Dev. I'd do a bisect with my profile, but per-build bisects are currently broken :-(

mpearson: I can investigate this, but before I do, any guesses as to what might be going wrong here?

> I can investigate this, but before I do, any guesses as > to what might be going wrong here? If the issue was not profile-specific, my first instinct is to ask whether someone has touched FixupUrl recently? (But it appears the answer is no.) I'm not sure what to say if it profile-specific.

- What platform? (Windows?) This happened on Windows/Desktop. - Does the same profile on another synced device exhibit the same issue? I haven't seen this on Mac... yet. I can reattempt a repro when I get back to the office in January. - Does it matter how you attempt the navigation? Clicking a link vs. typing the URL vs. drag-n-drop to the tab strip? I only tried to copy+paste the URL.

robliao: any more info on whether you can reproduce this on another device? Also, can you try typing the URL to see if the issue occurs that way? (One possibility is something going wrong with the Windows clipboard paste code path.)

This was profile dependent at the time. The issue was not repro on another profile. I haven't hit this recently, but I'll reopen if I do. |
