Issue description
Chrome Version : 62.0.3202.94
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
Safari: PASS/FAIL (Version)
Firefox: PASS/FAIL (Version)
Edge: PASS/FAIL (Version)
What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Start Chrome on a high-res laptop connected to a standard-res monitor
(2) Move the window between the screens and observe the effects of scaling
(3)
What is the expected result?
Chrome should scale according to the resolution and scaling settings of the screen it's being used on.
What happens instead?
Some objects scale incorrectly; notably the mouse hover tooltips, the scroll bar, and the sign in button in the top right. Also some items in web pages, for example y-axis labels at https://www.tradingview.com/chart/?symbol=BITSTAMP:ETHBTC
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
Tool tips are hard to read when scaling makes them small. Sign in button obscures other buttons on toolbar when scaling makes it big.
For graphics-related bugs, please copy/paste the contents of the about:gpu
page at the end of this report.

As ET team don't have Laptop to monitor connector to setup dual monitor. Hence forwarding this issue to Inhouse, could someone from Inhouse team take a look into this. Thanks!

paulrubberfish@ For better understanding, could you please help us with screen-cast of this issue and also with the resolutions of two screens Thank You...

The first file shows oversized tooltip text and right-hand scroll bar on my monitor (1920x1080). The second shows incorrectly sized text on the y axis of a graph; this is on the laptop screen (3200x1800). Both shots show the misplaced Chrome sign-in button in the top right, obscuring other toolbar buttons.

Thank you for providing more feedback. Adding requester "kkaluri@chromium.org" to the cc list and removing "Needs-Feedback" label. For more details visit https://www.chromium.org/issue-tracking/autotriage - Your friendly Sheriffbot

I have the same experience with my Surface Book connected to an external monitor (1080p). The Y-axis scrollbar looks twice the size, right clicking the main menyu bar at the top shows a much larger right-click menu and the main content window doesn't line up properly with the cross to close Chrome. This is most irritating when clicking Browse (and hence opening an Open File Dialogue box) as the dialogue is also scaled at the main display's scale level. |
