Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/63.0.3239.84 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open a magnet URL 2. Check the "Always open these types of links with the associated application" box, and click open 3. Open a second magnet URL, it will display the box again! What is the expected behavior? It should automatically open the magnet link with the associated application. What went wrong? It doesn't appear to be saving the checkbox tick, or at least not acknowledging previous ticks. Did this work before? Yes I don't know, but this version is the first time I've seen it happen Chrome version: 63.0.3239.84 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: Others have experienced this problem as well, and attempting to clear cache/cookies and re-associating the applications with the magnet have no effect.

As far as I can tell, any magnet link will work as it is related to the browser rather than the content itself. A number of (legal) torrent files are available at http://archive.org. One of which, converted to magnet URL is: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:c1ca20600015fba517a8a95e75f5c6dc62f6e5b0&dn=draculabr00stokuoft Source: https://archive.org/details/draculabr00stokuoft

Reporter@ Thanks for the issue. Tested this issue on Windows 10 and Mac OS 10.12.6 using the reported version 63.0.3239.84, latest Canary 65.0.3310.0 and Stable 63.0.3239.108 by following the below steps. 1. Launched Chrome and navigated to the magnet link provided in comment #3 and it is shown as incorrect link. 2. Tried searching for magnet links in http://archive.org, but couldn't find any links. 3. Also tried opening few magnet links examples, but blank pages are shown. Attached is the screen cast for reference. Request you to please check and update if anything is missed from our end. Also request you to provide the exact URL where this issue is reproduced. Thanks..

You need a P2P client such as uTorrent or BitTorrent in order to use magnet links.

Furthermore, it appears the magnet link cannot simply be opened by entering it into the search bar. I have attached a simple webpage that will allow you to open a specified magnet URI (which will launch in the same way that would be provided on a magnet distribution website), and an image displaying the resulting dialog.

It's not a checkbox in a web page. Removing Blink>Forms>Checkbox.
