Window will not maximize

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:45.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/45.0

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Cannot maximize the window at all
2. All other windows appear to function normally
3. 

What is the expected behavior?
To open the window full screen

What went wrong?
I only know it will not maximize. It will minimize and close properly

Did this work before? N/A 

Chrome version: 56.0.2924.76  Channel: n/a
OS Version: io gnu/linux
Flash Version: pepperflashplugin

Fresh install of io gnu/linux

Unable to reproduce this issue on reported version 56.0.2924.76 using Ubuntu 14.04 with steps mentioned below.

1.Launch chrome and hit F11 -- Observed successful maximize of window.
2. Clicked on 3 dot menu and selected [ ] option -- Observed successful maximize of window.

@Reporter: Are you seeing this issue on any particular URL. If so please provie sample URL to tet this issue. And also please upgrade chrome to latest stable and check the issue. You can download latest stable from https://www.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel. Please check the issue on stable and report back. This would help in further triaging of the issue.

Chrome 56 is unsupported.  Please update to the latest stable (Chrome 63) and check if the issue still persists.
The distro I was using was io gnu/linux and was not the latest unstable release. I tried the latest version and everything worked as expected. Thanks for your response. All is well now.

You're welcome. Ironic that the latest unstable release had no trouble but the older stable one did. As I've come to learn, that's how Debian based distros can be sometimes.
