[macOS] Show also the current update status in percentage on chrome://settings/help

Project Member Reported by meh...@chromium.org, Dec 9 2017

Issue description

Chrome Version: 65.0.3289.0 Canary
OS: macOS

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Start Canary from the day before
(2) Select from the Menu Bar: Chrome > About Google Chrome
(3) Follow the Update Process on the chrome://settings/help tab

What is the expected result?
To see with the Throbber together the current update status in percentage in all Channels.

This works on OS=Windows, therefore it would be nice to have this feature also on macOS.

What happens instead?
I only see the Update Throbber on the page, and have no idea what the current status of the update process is.

Thanks.

borisv@ - is this update percentage available on the Mac side? I didn't think it was currently available at all.

Nope, it is not. Google Software Update for Mac does not provide that information to Chrome. We are working on supplying it, but it won't come until sometime next year.
