Right-click has gone berserk

Reported by teo8...@gmail.com, Dec 8 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/62.0.3202.94 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
This has happened to me ONCE, and it is NOT systematically reproducible as far as I know.

This is what i did and what happened

1. open several tabs and visit several websites
2. right-click on a link

What is the expected behavior?
the context menu should show up (with options such as "open link in new tab", etc)

What went wrong?
the context menu wouldn't show up.

Sometimes, I would see it flash for a fraction of a second and disappear, regardless of whether I was doing just a quick click or pressing and holding the right mouse button.

When this started happening, it became systematic, meaning I tried right-clicking hundreds of times and the menu would never show up.

Switching tabs, left-clicking around, giving focus to other applications and then back to Chrome, would not fix the issue.

I'm not sure what made the issue go away but I think it was showing Desktop (Ctrl+Super+D) and then getting back to Chrome.
After that, right-click works as expected now.

Did this work before? Yes no idea but this is the first time this happens to me

In my case it happens after opening Evolution in Gnome. Closing chromium coredumps. Reopening chromium problem persists. Evolution or Gnome bug?

I have installed Evolution just for the sake of confirming comment 1, but after opening Evolution, I can't reproduce this bug at will.

So I wonder if dntsp...@gmail.com is observing the same issue or an unrelated one.

I'm not sure the Needs-Bisect label makes much sense. As far as I understand it's impossible to do a bisect while there isn't a known way to reproduce the issue at will.
Unable to reproduce the issue on reported version 62.0.3202.94 using Linux Ubuntu 14.04 and observed the expected behaviour i.e., context menu is displayed

As the seems to be inconsistent in behaviour and it not reproducibel from TE end, hence removing Needs-Bisect label

Thanks!

@teo8976: Could you please confirm are you still able to reproduce the issue in latest stable #66.0.3359.139?

Thanks!!
